Called To Serve
God has a plan and a program for every believer! He is our provider, our
healer, our peace. Everything we could ever ask or think and even more
is in Him. His desire is for us to live an abundant, (fulfilling,
prosperous life), and while we're doing it,
He has ordained
that we should walk in the good works He has called us to!
The Trinity of Man
According to this scripture Paul perceived man to be a tri-part being:
spirit, soul and body.
As we delve deeper into this study we will learn that not only are there
three different aspects or facets of man which are combined to get what
we commonly refer to as mankind or human beings, but for the most part
we actually think of ourselves in terms contrary to the word of God.
The Trinity of Man 2
The first time
it is recorded that God spoke to another being is in the 26th verse of
the 1st chapter of the Bible.
It is recorded in Gen 1:26
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: again in
the very next verse the scripture comments on the fact that man is made
in the image of God. Gen 1:27
So God created man in his own
image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he
them.
The Trinity of Man
(Soul)
1Th 5:23
And the very God of peace
sanctify you wholly; and I pray God
your whole spirit and
soul
and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus
Christ.
In the past articles we have looked at two aspects of what is referred
to as the Trinity of man. In this third study we'll discuss the third
and final part of man which the scripture commonly calls the “soul”.
As pointed out previously there is much confusion concerning the spirit,
the soul and the heart of man.
We have studied the "spirit" in a previous article and will not
take the time to address it
again. However it is worthwhile noting that many times Bible translators
have mistakenly used spirit and soul as synonyms.
